Uponor Infra Fintherm sålt till EP Industries

Uponor Infra Fintherm sålt

Divestment as a logical step

Uponor Infra Fintherm a.s. (Fintherm) has been sold to EP Industries a.s. on 29 April 2019. Fintherm is Uponor Infra's subsidiary and the largest manufacturer and supplier of pre-insulated pipe systems in the Czech Republic. The divestment is aligned with Uponor Infra's strategy to concentrate on its core business in the Northern part of Europe. All Fintherm's 60 employees will remain as employees of Fintherm. EP Industries is one of the leading industrial holding companies in the Czech Republic. It includes a number of companies operating in power engineering, transport infrastructure and the automotive industry.

“This divestment is a logical step, following Uponor Infra's previous divestments of machinery company Extron Engineering and Thailand subsidiary in 2015 as well as North America last year. According to its strategy Uponor Infra focuses on its core business in Europe and utilizes the possible synergies with Building Solutions – Europe segment: common distribution channels and strong brand to name a few." comments Sebastian Bondestam, President, Uponor Infra.

EP Industries a.s. (EPI) is a holding company participating through its subsidiaries in various industry sectors, in particular in energy infrastructure development, power machinery, automotive and waste management. Company's consolidated revenues for EPI were 14.6 billion CZK in 2017 and has 5,300 employees. EPI is an affiliated company of EPH Group, a leading Central European energy group that owns and operates assets in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, UK, Hungary and Poland.

EP Industries aims to strengthen its competence in pre-insulated pipe systems and broaden their offering. This makes Fintherm a great complement to their business portfolio.
