My work takes me across borders - both international ones and also the borderlines between a wide range of industries. One thing is that Uponor Infra 360TM offers a better way of getting the job done.

The main industries we work with include paper and pulp, power plants, mines, water treatment plants, oil refineries - sectors where you usually need a lot of water for cooling or processing. While these industries are in many ways quite different from each other, the common denominator is that every aspect of the proposed solution has to work - and when they don´t there are huge costs incurred.

Uponor Infra 360TM is simply our shorthand term for considering all the options and shouldering the responsibilities when it comes to delivering comprehensive design & build solutions. One thing we have heard repeatedly from our customers across different industries is that they have had negative experiences in the past when they hired consultants to do only the desing work, and then contractors to do the actual building. Because of this basic division of responsibilities, they too often experienced extensive delays - or the completed solution didn´t work properly at all. This is the primary reason that our customers increasingly express a preference for a unified design & build offering for their key projects. This, together with our Uponor Infra 360TM mindset and skillset, means our customers know exactly who is in charge if the solution doesn´t work - and who is going to pay them if it doesn´t work.

With most of our projects, when we get the initial inquiry from a potential client, they don´t actually know precisely what solution they need. Rather, they usually open the discussion by describing the challenges. For example, Uponor Infra is currently helping expand a large industry complex in Finland by constructing its cooling water system. The customer had no idea of the various details such as the pipeline length or the installation procedures - In other words, our contracts list is what our customers wants - but they don´t say how we are going to get the job done. That´s up to us, based on our knowledge and resultant design plan.

Sometimes we´ve been called in to a project that already has a design, and in about 7 out of 10 cases we will successfully submit our solution rather than the ready-made one. This is because we see the whole picture - using our theoretical and practial experience.

Most important of all is a firm completion date for the project. Therefor we put a lot of emphasis on not being late when it comes to delivering what we promise our customers. For many of our customers, being on schedule is more important than the actual price.
